Endowments
An important priority of Houston Methodist is to grow the hospital's endowment. Endowed funds are a powerful financial tool that enables philanthropic contributions to have a deeply rooted, enduring impact.
Instead of being immediately spent, endowed funds are held in a managed account, where the corpus of the gift grows in value over time. A percentage of the funds (usually 5%) are spun off each year to support designated program and activities. In this way, endowed funds provide steady, reliable funding in perpetuity.
